London is renowned as a global leader in education. With over 100,000 international students from over 200 different nations, it is the most popular student city in the world.
It is home to 45 universities, ranging from research specialist institutions to large-scale, multi-faculty universities, with more ranked in the world’s top 40 than any other city. As a base for some of the greatest minds history, the city has also borne ground-breaking discoveries including those of DNA, fingerprints and Penicillin.
There are exciting times ahead for education in the east of the city. The emerging East Bank will be home UCL’s £100m new campus opening in 2021 – with around 4,000 students and 260 staff when fully operational – and the UAL London College of Fashion will unite 6,500 students at their single campus here in 2022.
